Varebeskrivelse
Stand: Brugt - men i god stand
This Illustrated book is an outstanding monument of Russian historical thought and an example of a chronological medieval presentation of history. It appeared in the 16th century.
This Illustrated Chronicle Collection contains almost 17.000 miniatures. Nearly every sheet is accompanied by a miniature that explains the content of the text. A part of these miniatures are dedicated to Alexander Nevskij.
A fine reproduction in atlas format of this hand lettered and illuminated 16th century manuscript.
Bright red cloth covered boards and spine with shiny gilt lettering on the spine and a shiny gilt illustration on the front board
Pages are vellum colored, likely on account of the source material, with beautiful gallery of artwork throughout.
Text of the manuscript is in Old Russian / Old Church Slovanic, but the book has translations of the text, in the rear, into the Modern Russian and into the English.
The book contains [86, 12, 12] pages. Size: 15.5x11.5 inch. (40 x 30 cm.)
The Book is in fine condition, in the original red shirting, dust jacket missing however.
