Varebeskrivelse
Stand: Brugt - men i god stand
Guitartype: Elektriske guitarer
1971 Fender Thinline Telecaster serial number 318516. Came from a major London recording studio. A very lightweight instrument perfect for anyone wanting a vintage Fender that is easy on their back and shoulder. See original catalog page in the listing. These came with either Ash or Mahogany bodies, with this one being the lighter ash option. At 54 years old, this guitar has proven to be a great survivor for more than half a century.
1971 was major year in music and has an 8-part series on Apple TV "1971: The Year Music Changed Everything." David Bowie famously said, "We were creating the 21st century in 1971." The New York Times has noted: "In 1971, Marvin Gaye was transforming the protest song with the sublime “What’s Going On”; the Rolling Stones were hammering away on their raw classic “Exile on Main St.” in a rented villa in the South of France; Aretha Franklin was showing her public solidarity with the incarcerated Black activist Angela Davis; and David Bowie was writing the book on rock ’n’ roll androgyny. It was also a remarkable coming-out year for female artists. Carole King, who split with her husband and songwriting partner, Gerry Goffin, in 1968, released “Tapestry” in 1971, and Joni Mitchell put out “Blue,” after the end of her relationship with Graham Nash.
I think this '71 Telecaster carries on the spirit of change that year brought to the music industry and the rest of the world.
The Thinline model is such a light and versatile instrument. It has obviously had some modifications over the years. The tuners have had the common Schaller upgrade. The nut and strap buttons have been replaced. A very cool vintage Fender for barely more than a brand new Custom Shop model from Fender of Gibson. Crazy to see people pay thousands extra to have a custom shop make a new guitar pretend to look old when you can just get the real deal. Obviously there are marks, wear and signs of aging given it being a 1971 model, but will look awesome on stage and sound great in the studio.
Price is fixed. Collection from Ringkøbing or I can post same day payment is received. Selling off my entire collection, so see my other listings for more rare guitars.
