Glenn Miller (1904--44) er en af jazzens største, men døde blot 40 år gammel i flyulykke, da han 15.december i lille fly var på vej til julekoncert for tropperne i Paris.

Men de udødelige sange lever videre, ikke midnst i denne flotte samling af 16 sange.
Glenn Miller er den sande "giant of jazz" og har stor andel i populariteten af jazz, især for hans orkester, hans kompositioner og popularitet ikke mindst i årene 1939-44.

"His band's unique sound, featuring a melodic line played by the clarinet and tenor saxophone, with three other saxophones harmonizing within a single octave, led to massive popularity. His signature song is "Moonlight Serenade" and other hits include "In the Mood".
Notable for: Leading one of the most popular and best-selling big bands of the swing era.
Signature song: "Moonlight Serenade" became his signature tune, though it was originally the b-side to his 1939 release of "Sunrise Serenade".
Musical innovation: Developed a unique sound by combining the clarinet and tenor saxophone to play a melodic line, harmonized by other saxophones.
