Published as part of the Florida Documentary Project, 1989. Eric Breitenbach visited all 67 counties of Florida within the period of one year.
"The pictures within are but a thin slice of the entire body of work, with an emphasis on what have always been the subject of my work: race, class, the fragility of human relationships, a sense of American self, and the ultimate aloness of each and every human being. They are a fragmented collection of visual artifacts, a documentation of what one man experienced as he traveled within a specific time and a defined place. They are here in front of you now, but by all means don't mistake them for the real thing."
