Antique hanging Icon of The Sacred Heart of Jesus by Artist M. Patentado in Repousse Silver-Plated Copper and framed in a bilevel black gesso and painted copper and wood frame. The 3d plaque itself measures 14" by 10 3/4" and is 2 3/4" in depth. There is a detailed chain and flame sacred heart, cherubs, scroll and columns and on the bottom area of the plaque in the two corners a horned and bearded devil perhaps or mythical creature. On the bottom left corner etched the artist name M. Patentado and the bottom right corner etched MADE IN SPAIN. The bilevel frame measures 18 1/4" by 15" and has a hanging wall depth of 3 1/2". The first level is a black painted gesso on wood and measures 1" thick and the second level is a copper painted in caramel brown and dark brown swirls and is also 1" thick. I have not attempted to polish this piece other than a wet soft cloth, this piece was acquire from a local convent in Northeastern Connecticut.
