The role
Our Scandinavian classifieds businesses are expected to grow rapidly over the next few years and this role will be pivotal in achieving that growth. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark and reporting to the CFO of Scandinavia, the Manager will utilize exceptional strategy development, problem-solving, analytical and communication skills to help drive performance in a fast growing area of the internet and e-commerce. In this role, the Manager will help set the strategic course for the Scandinavian portfolio of businesses as well as providing support to specific classifieds operating units.
Job responsibilities:
- Development of the overarching Scandinavian strategy, including business development and prioritizing investments
- Assessment of competitive threats and opportunities e.g., including market analysis and organic & acquisitive growth opportunities
- Identifying opportunities to improve internal business performance by optimizing the operating models
- Monitoring and reporting on market conditions and trend
- Leading projects and managing relationships at all levels within the business, with acquisition candidates and 3rd party providers
Education, skills & experience
The ideal candidate will be fluent in English, qualified to MBA level and will have:
- 2-3 years+ work experience, ideally at a leading strategy consulting firm or 4-5 years in a consumer Internet business
- A proven track record of exceptional performance at all professional and educational career stages
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Ability to work both independently and with flexibility
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skill
- Clarity of vision, and the ability to maintain the ‘big picture’ coupled with the ability to make quick decisions as needed High energy and a desire to work in a results oriented, fast growth, team oriented environment
- Comfortable managing multiple projects within a start-up or fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, as well as in an international setting
- A passion for building businesses from the ground up and the ability to define and lead it through triple digit growth, with a willingness & desire to work at an operational level when required
- Proven experience in leading & developing teams, within a fun and collaborative environment
- The ability to develop strong professional relationships and to influence peers, managers, business unit leaders, legal groups and other teams
- A passion for problem-solving
- Interest in the Internet and international business management
Additional requirements
This position will require international travel from time to time as well as travel between Copenhagen and Århus
